Starcraft 2

The gaming company Blizzard is the one who created the game Starcraft. The original Starcraft game is one of the best Real-Time Strategy games of all time. So, how did Blizzard fare on the second installment, Starcraft 2? Starcraft 2 is actually quite good. It has a lot of players and a lot of esports tournaments have spawned in South Korea for example.

Starcraft 2 is the sequel, and unlike the original game, Starcraft 2 is set as a trilogy. In the original Starcraft game, players can choose between Terran, Zerg, and Protoss. Each of them has their own storyline that will ultimately lead them to one another.

But, Blizzard went on another route for the 2nd installment. Instead of releasing one enormous game, they decided to release three Starcraft 2 games, each having one race in focus.

The first part of the trilogy is titled Wings of Liberty, and it focuses on the Terran. The Terran is the human race with Jim Raynor as the main protagonist. The story then unfolds and during the course of it, he finds a former friend named Tychus Findlay. Both of them traverse the galaxy in order to find Kerrigan, the former Terran who is now popularly known as the Queen of Blades.

Jim Raynor wants to help Kerrigan transform back into being a normal human again, but Arcturus Mengsk and his fleet doesn’t want Jim Raynor to succeed. In the end, he rescues Kerrigan and helped her become a human again, while Tychus was killed due to his insubordination.

The Second installment of Starcraft 2 is called the Heart of the Swarm. The story now focuses on the Zerg faction. The Zerg are monsters who are uncontrollable on their own. The only ones who can control these maniacal creatures are the Zerg’s Overmind and Kerrigan, the Queen of Blades.

During the course of the game, Zeratul, a Protoss warrior, foresees the future. He then tells Kerrigan that the only way to save the human race, is for her to revert back into being the Queen of blades. To make the long story short, Kerrigan became Queen of Blades.

After transforming back to her Zerg form, Kerrigan set out to destroy Arcturus Mengsk. Mengsk was responsible for turning Kerrigan into the Queen of Blades because he left Kerrigan during a mission in Starcraft 1.

Kerrigan was victorious and she killed Arcturus Mengsk. After her victory, she went out and proceeded into the last part of the story…

The third and final installment of the game is called the Legacy of the Void and it focuses on the Protoss race. The story is focused on Artanis, the leader of the Protoss race. He should gather all of the remaining Protoss and stop the dark Amon’s plans of destroying the galaxy.

There was a pre-game installment in the Legacy of the Void called Whispers of Oblivion, and the missions tie the story where Heart of the Swarm left off leading to the events that’s transpiring in the Legacy of the Void.

Starcraft 2 is truly a game for the masses, and if you want to play the best RTS game of all time, be sure to get a copy of this game now.
